Ordered for my Dakar

After exchanging several emails with Darryl regarding mounting options, I went ahead and ordered a pair of 20degree lenses and the accompanying mounts today.
I have a set of SW Motech crashbars I'm going to mount to, although this is not my preferred solution. I have a feeling the throw might be hampered by the front wheel. Also just not crazy about having the lights so low. The Dakar does not offer many mounting options, and being an older bike there are not many aftermarket options available either.
Anyway, I'll see how it works out once I have them fitted.
Darryl has been real helpful so far and very quick to respond to my emails.

I'm not the best when it comes things electrical, so I'm hoping that a good wiring diagram and instructions are included.
I'll post some pics after I have them all hooked up. I have not seen any pics of these lights on a Dakar yet.
I'm pretty impressed with all the reviews so far.

Thank You Dakarguy!!

On an ugly note
Cyclops will be closed for the next few days due to flooding in the shop, not fun to come into 8" or more of standing water threwout the place.
Those with current orders have been notified, with the exception of the presales on the new led headlight bulb.
If you place an order it most likely will not go out until next week.
Thank You for your understanding

Darryl,

I hope you make out alright with the shop waters... what a drag!

We had that happen to us in our retail location at the climbing shop I was working at in Bellingham one Spring, and we had 6" of standing water all over the floor. It was a drag, but we got it done. Cost us about a week at that time as well. We battled the mold for a while, but eventually we beat it...

All the best, Good Sir.

Stovey

LR Extreme race light on a 950SE

Sorry to hear that news about your shop, Darryl. Hope you can get at it again soon. It sucks to get held up like that when life is rolling around you.

Some pics of my setup so far...

LR Extreme's on my SE, along w/ my new tank & clock:

No chance to ride yet due to weather & injury, but hopefully soon. I've been playing with the light output with filter combos and it seems very versatile! For general riding & commuting, I'll likely run one amber filter (for long range visibility) & one clear wide angle filter which broadcasts well and diffuses the s&%* - ton of light that is emitted when I'm in traffic.

I have a Sicass EXC multifunction switch wired in on the left side which allows for a "Headlight OFF" position. With the Skene dimmer, it functions great. Off, Low Beam (40% output programmed through dimmer), Bright (100%). I have not tried this in oncoming traffic, nor have I fine tuned the "aim" , but I should be in the ballpark.

I was running the crappy OEM SE headlight before w/ Rigid Dually's. Now, w/ these Extremes, I'm using half the power & have far more light, throw, versatility, etc. I'm impressed so far. My volt meter is reading consistantly 3/10ths higher while running high beams, headted grips, etc. Plenty of power left for heated gear or other stuff, but I don't want other "stuff". I'm trying to get rid of stuff.

I'll post up some additional thoughts once I get some road time. Deep single reflector LED emitters are the real deal, IMO & limited experience. I'm looking forward upcoming testing.

Darryl... I can't imagine what those 7" lights are gonna do!

It's a TrailTech Striker. The vapor has a tach, which I don't need but lacked a volt meter that I wanted.

Not sure why TrailTech did that. They are the same outer body.

Cheap, durable, & functional.

One more step towards having the Super Adventure complete.

80 watts of mind blowing LED. over a mile of usable light, hooked up to the Skene Iq 175. Ill be running the wide beam filter on one, maybe both lights.
The highest powered lights to ever be on two wheels.
