Will OEM 1150 Crash Bars fit on an 1100??

Is wondering if there will be much difficulty fitting the newer ones, my bike is an 1100 but the PO has installed a full 1150 front end on it so maybe it'll work ... any ideas??

Plus the occasional Triumph, BSA, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and KTM but who's counting

The exhaust layout might cause some difficulty.

Ah, yes the two header pipes on one side issue. I see aftermarket skid pans are different, probably for the same reason.

Too bad, I just saw this ebay link from the dealer in Montreal and I'm in Montreal every weekend so I could pick them up and save shipping.

Yup.

A tubing bender, MIG welder, steel and creativity would get you there...

So the next question is .... will the 1150 header pipes fit on the 1100?

There's a much better choice of used pipes, skid plates, crash bars etc out there for the newer model.

Probably. You'd also need the muffler and Cat (or a Y pipe) to finish the system. A complete cosmetically imperfect system shouldn't cost muc.

Might be worth the trouble. I bought a 1100 Remus full system with collector off Ebay and it's just as heavy as the stock system so no real gains there.

1100 headers are 3 bolts per side. 1150 headers are 2 bolts per side.

Hmmm.... Are tube diameters the same? Could a manifold plate from an 1100 be grafted to an 1150 header?

Not sure on the tube diameters. You could check the parts fiche to see if they are configured similarly. I suppose if you can weld it could be done. I think you would have to cut the mounting flange off both pipes and switch them. Or you could swap for 1150 cylinders if you really wanted to waste money.

Any good repair or machine shop can cut, swap and re-weld the pipes for not a lot of $. Send 'em out afterward to get a ceramic coating if appearance is a hangup.
