Ride for Kids, April 12th, 2014

Many ADV'ers have attended the Ride for Kids, run out of Glen Helen, over the years. I wanted to let everyone know that Rick Clark has a laid out a great route this year, including some new GPS-only hardways.

In the past the ride has always hit the same trails. Rick took charge of the route this year and has been busy for several months finding and proofing new stuff. Think Baldy Mesa singletrack, Phelan sand hills and rutted climbs, etc

The ride this year is Saturday, April 12th. More information and registration here, as well as additional discussion on the D37 Dualsport forum.

It's a fun day of riding in your backyard, for a great cause, and now with some very challenging sections to make it even more better even. See you there!

I am in, with at least one guest. Thanks RAZR for making me aware of this ride a couple years ago.

Cool2

Great cause, to much dust.

If it rains I will go. Remember April showers.

Cross your fingers.

It's the one of few rides I will make this year. I agree. Rick and Dan are the masters when it comes to laying out a great ride!!

This is a great ride to get connected with the dirt. It's close to home for a lot of us and easy to bail out if you've had enough. I used to call this an introductory ride. I still di. But if you want more, Rick has some for you, a lot more.
This ride isn't a smpkescreen to get some good press, we raise real dollars (about 40k at each years event) that 85% goes directly to the kids impacted by pediatric brain tumors. We serve you breakfast at the start and lunch on the trail, all we ask is you bring a few bucks for the cause.
This is a great meet up at Glen Helen raceway, April 12, signups open at 0600-0900.

I plan on riding this again, my fourth or fifth year i believe i've raise something like $3K over the years. I see the layout and format of the fundraising page changed from firstgiving to their own page. which is good i reckon. Should be a nice fun ride. Looking forward to it on the 950 again.

Generally yes, as long as you stick to the easy ways. What bike and tires?

Thanks for the heads up, I think I will have to wait until I have a more aggresive tire. Next year for sure.

I've ridden in the area on the stock Scorpions, which are fine for the roads out there. Just stay off the singletrack stuff

I want to go sooooo bad but I don't have a truck and I know I'm not gonna want to ride 70 miles to get there then 70 miles back after a day of riding. Hope everyone has a great time.

The easy route will be fire roads, the kind where your biggest worry is running into a Honda Civic.
