Kitesurfing on a Motorcycle: Baja Trip Reports
For those who are interested, I am using a blog to post trip reports from a motorcycle & kitesurfing trip to Baja.
http://blog.myspace.com/peted74 ADV Rider is a GREAT site and I found lots of info that helped me get ready for the trip. Thanks for everything! |

BTW, if anyone else is curious about how to get kitesurfing gear onto a motorcycle, here's a photo... there's more detail in a post I put up a few weeks ago in the equipment forum.

Hey all.
I updated the blog with a bunch of photos etc. Warning: some of the ones from the night of clubbing in Tijuana are a little risque :-) Nothing you haven't seen before though... Other interesting events include hitting a cow the other night at 60mph (ouch!) and accidentally stumbling into a huge motorcycle rally in Tijuana. http://blog.myspace.com/peted74 I'll be in one spot for a while now but will post if I go on any interesting rides. |

i'll put a small light rack on the trailer for the board. if i wreck and break the board, my body will most likely be broken too :)

![]() Top pic is from a 600K day trip I did to go KBing with a friend yesterday. That's two kites w/bars, wetsuit, helmet, gloves, booties, impact vest, harness + tools/tubes for my bike. And...*sigh*...a few farckles I bought when seduced after stopping at Touratech USA!... ![]() No board this time as I borrowed my buddy's, but you can either strap the board behind you on the seat under your kites parallel or perpendicular to your direction of travel - whatever you like best. If it's sticking out behind you it won't get damaged in a crash and it's light so as long as the front half is well strapped down under your kites it won't be a problem. ![]() One of the main reasons I got my KLR was to haul my kiteboarding gear around the island - especially down logging roads... ![]() http://klr650blog.wordpress.com/2011...-kiteboarding/ |

Im going to Cape Hatteras from Ontario, thats about 1200km. Wondering if I should rent a board down there or taking my own. Any issue with wind or passing transport truck in the highway with that setup?
