Poor HB... I had a taste of that kind of shine, that a friend of ours from AL made ..
I handed it to HB and said Ooo it's so good ..
He took a swig.. And well that's when the fight began...
Oh my gosh it was awful !!! But the friend is standing right there and ya can't spit it out..
Ya have to smile and say ahhhhh that good ..

So the next tie ya see HB ask him about the Bama shine...

This is not an AMA event. It is a thursday,friday,saturday and sometimes sunday ride. (Sometimes tuesday , wednesday) Ride mileage varies. There are usually about 3 group rides on saturday. A mostly street , easy gravel ride. There is a lot to see in the area, senaca rocks, spruce knob, dolly sods,sinks of grady ..etc... A dual sport ride that is a little more aggressive and a harder core dual sport ride. Camping spots are 8 dollars a night put in a box on the honor system. There may be 1-3 tents per camping spot so the fee may be 3-8 dollars per night



Of the 3 group rides, is there a more aggressive hard core dual sport ride? As for camping and the $8 per night, are pop-up tent campers allowed at the camp site?? As for mileage each day, anyone have a ball park number from past experiance??
Is the (Sometimes tuesday , wednesday) ride before the weekend?? And does the ride start and end at the same campground? I'm asking these questions because its a long drive for me so I dont want to assume anything. This sounds like a lot of fun.

There are no organized rides so to speak. Could be one group or four. Basically, someone says "I'll lead" and others follow. All rides are on either USFS(all dirt/gravel) or County roads(mostly dirt/gravel with some pavement), there is no single track. Some of the dirt/gravel roads can be rather rough and rocky.

Yes. Anything from tents or lean-tos to 40 ft RVs. No hook-ups. It's a primitive campground.

Anywhere from 30 to 300 miles. It's up to you how far.

Yes, Tuesday and Wednesday are before the WE.

And does the ride start and end at the same campground?
Yes. Unless something unforseen happens or you're not camping at the campground.

It is a lot of fun. Bring whatever you think you may need, especially rain gear, because it's pretty much in the middle of no where, and it always rains at Laurel Fork.
