These are the ones that will work on almost everything. Also don't use rope. Use bungee cord. You can buy it in bulk lengths. It won't come loose as loads shift like rope will.

I learned to tie a Bowline, trucker's hitch and half hitch many years ago when helping a farmer friend haul bails of hay on open trucks. Been using these three knots to secure loads ever since then.
However, I am not complaining because I know that I am probably better today then I will be tomorrow, so I try and enjoy every day as it comes, and stay determined to live well and be appreciative of what I still can do..."Stromsurfer"
