Where can I get a decent looking Cafe racer seat from?
I'm not keen on the Flatracer seat and want something a little more rounded. Any Ideas?

I got mine from von zeti on eBay, it's pretty small but they do quite
a few different types I was happy enough with the quality but I also bought one of their subframes which I don't rate at all |

They make some seats for old Honda's and whatnot that I would love to use but they aren't wide enough for our subframes. Meanwhile that RS54 seat is the closest thing to what I would like to run but it isn't close enough. I don't like the looks of most everything else I have seen. Most all of them are made to cover a stock subframe and there is no way I wouldn't shorten my subframe if I was running a clubman's seat. IMO, our bikes look SO much better with a shortened subframe to right above or a little aft the axle. It completely changes the look of the bike and makes them look WAY smaller (shorter) IMO.

mine didn't fit too well and though it does its job, i don't think its sturdy enough for a twin shock,
it'd be fine on a mono i did like the seat, as supershaft says its the perfect length for looks, just past the final drive but would be a nightmare to fit to a standard subframe i got the impression that kevils were using von zeti seats and subframes on some of their bikes in all i'd recommend their seats but i'll be making my own subframe next time |

Subframe question
Supershaft mentioned shortening the subframe for a better look.
Does anybody know if an R65 subframe is shorter. And if so, by how much ? And will it bolt onto an R100/7 ? Kai Ju screwed with this post 11-09-2012 at 04:15 PM |

I'll probably be selling a vonzetti subframe and cafe seat, bright red with white stripe, lovely condition....

Those Von Zeti frames just look too flimsy for my liking. I suspect that the Von Zeti parts are made by Kevil as a quick and easy way to get the look he wants for his bikes. http://www.kevilsspeedshop.com/motorcycles.html
I've just ordered one of these from Vietnam as an interim seat Ebay link Rob Farmer screwed with this post 11-10-2012 at 05:09 AM |

Basically, the R65 subframe and swingarm are the same dimensions than the early /5 short ones. |

Let us know what you think about that seat. I've been thinking about one but would like to see pics on a bike and hear some first hand input.

Will do. Got to admit I was a little bit nervous of ordering something listed in the states but shipped from Vietnam. I already had a confirmation of posting from them so hopefully it should be here soon.

Yes please do a write up on this Vietnamese origin seat. I like the looks of it and want to take the plunge but would rather have someone else be first.
