Yeh John I'm running a Yuasa YTZ12S (I think) which is the standard battery. Actually trimmed the drain nipple off the carb to fit. It has a 39mmFCR non MX.

But what if the bike falls over (which will actually happen pretty often in the dirt...) and fuel starts running over battery and engine... Im not a big friend of this solution

But I want that Keihin I had one in my Adv R with 660 SMC engine, but of course there was plenty of space (no battery and starter...)

Its the float bowl drain that only operates if you undo the screw with a screwdriver to let the fuel out. Fuel running over a battery is only a problem if you arc the +/- with something metallic. Ever consider that a broken dry break fuel fitting would dump a whole tank of fuel straight onto a Rally's hot exhaust sitting directly below it... could be why they burn in Dakar. Some on my bike were brittle (UV) and snapped, luckily at home in the workshop. Bothers me a bit hence the idea of a brass or steel version.

That looks great in white!!!! I made Db inserts for mine which worked but gave me a really annoying leak at the cyl head because (on my bike at least) the flanges off the head dont insert into the head pipes very far. I'm interested to see how you go. I only go into towns for fuel, occasionally... and they do sound incredible uncorked
