It's most likely a cooling water-oil heat exchanger that heats the oil up at start-up and keeps it cool when up to operating temperature, a la the very similar looking unit on BMW parrallel twin motor.

Cool prototype , unfortunately the final production version will not be released before the end of 2013.....so available in 2014
