I reckon you get great outcomes from upgrading and tuning any bike's suspension but I really do like the way this thing handles dirt tracks. The ralle moto steering damper is a Godsend too.
Any chance of telling us exactly what you've got?

That's right PBee, not so new! Nice way of putting it.

Yep, bought Danny's Tiger about 6 mths ago and have done about 4k kilometres on it since, virtually all on dirt. Danny did a great job building this bike and it still rides, goes and performs very well in the dirt. In ruts, sand and anything else i throw at it - it's just 'point and shoot'.

Blacktiger, if you go into Danny's thread and search on 'Wilbers' you will get all the info you need. So far as suspension goes I've had both ends (of the bike) serviced, reset sag etc - that's all.

My personal feeling is that they handle dirt pretty well in standard form but benefit from suspension upgrades, and I need all the help I can get.

Here's an example where I can get the bike to go but neither of us can get ourselves out of it!!! Needed a high lift jack to get out of here yesterday!!

Cheers

Just installed a Sargent seat... Looks so much better. Love the Sapphire Blue piping. Haven't ridden with it yet!

Will drop Miss Kitty off for surgery tomorrow. Should have her back sometime next week.

I'm hoping the results will raise the ride height (proper sag), eliminate bottoming on big hits, plushify small bumps, and tame washboard sections on gravel roads by smoothing out the chatter.

I'll post up info on total cost and a comparison of before and after once I've gotten a few post-surgery miles accumulated.

Having read the reports from AV-Mech and others about their experience with a suspension make-over I'm excited!
VERY intrigued to hear your results. I rode my (non-XC) on lots of nasty paved/gravel roads this weekend... front end bottomed out several times, back end is always spinning up on washboards, etc. Front steering head nut even came loose causing a bunch of knocking. Only 3000 miles on the bike too.

Very nice.
And for your next job........some decent hand guards as those standard ones are like a chocolate fire guard. i.e. useless.

Yup. They will not stay put if you put it down. They don't break.... they just move out of the way so other stuff does. Acerbis are cheap, Barkbusters are the best.

I'm happy with Cycra handguards. Running Pro Taper Coutour bars as well.
