Warm and Safe Remote Heat Troller ??

Getting my heated gear out and ready for a ride. I have Warm n Safe gear with a heated jacket liner.

I'm using the remote heat troller. No LED light and no heat. Check the power from the battery. But the instruction say
to replace the little watch battery. And they say to remove the screw and remove the lid.

Well, so far I'm not sure which part they're talking about. I have'nt found anything with a lid.

Where's the little CR2032 battery at??

It's in the remote that you mount on your bike or wherever. The receiver (which is actually connected to your jacket) gets its power from the bike battery, so it doesn't need a watch battery.

If you have the latest and greatest, then the remote has 4 tiny screws to remove and then you take off the whole bottom plate. But, it takes 2 AAA batteries, I think. I have not personally seen the older model that uses a CR2032, but I would expect it to be similar. Whatever screws you can see on the remote - take them out, then remove whatever part comes off. You'll probably see the battery you need to change.

All that said, unless the older stuff is different, when you plug the receiver into the bike's battery (and have it connected to the jacket), it should turn on to 1/3 power, even if the remote is totally dead. If that's not happening, then your problem might not be the remote at all. But, as I said, if the remote is the kind that takes a watch battery, it MIGHT not work like that. I only know that the new ones (what I have) DO work that way.

Yes the instructions said a CR battery or 2 AA's, depending on how old it is.

And I do have 1/3 power, I can tell that much, just enuff heat to tell you have it.

Really? I got mine when they first came out. Mine has the little battery, and yep. twice I was caught out. It's an awesome set up, but AA batteries would make it better.

Well, I must be a real dummy. I bought this from W N S late last year. And I don't have the battery remote.

I've got the newer kind that is hard wired to the bike, so it doesnt even have a battery.

So, I've test lighted the plug and its hot, but the individual on/off (have the dual controler) controls don't seam to be working. I can turn them on, but no LED light and no coat warmie.

Any ideas??

Doh! You had me confused. So, you don't have the wireless remote. You just have the dual remote.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure you have the battery harness attached with the correct polarity. I.e. make sure the red wire is to the + terminal on the battery and the black wire is to the - terminal.

Unfortunately, you still need a jeweler's sized phillips head screwdriver to get the cover off to change the batteries...

Ah. Right. If he has that then, yes, indeed, he does need to sync them.

I also just saw that WnS now has a new version of the wireless remote that has a coax power plug and a separate battery harness. So you never have to worry about your CR2032 or AAA batteries dying on you. I just got my wireless setup. Now I kinda wish I had gotten that, instead. I don't know. I guess there's advantages to both... I do like the ease of which I can go from bike to bike and still use my heated gear - even on a borrowed or rented bike, as long as it has a coax or SAE or Widder or Powerlet connection somewhere that I can plug into.

uhh, didja check the fuse....... on both the remote power cable as well as the cable going to your jacket.

If that's good then resync it.
