If Cal stays at Tech 3, I pledge to buy a can of Monster energy drink.

Haha! Good one!
Here's hoping. I want to see Cal challenging the front, not grimly circulating collecting grocery vouchers.

The Dovi Rule

When Cal and Dovi were teammates at Tech 3, they were pretty evenly matched. I suspect they would still be pretty evenly matched at Ducati too.

Hayden and Dovi are now pretty evenly matched at Ducati.

Therefore, Ducati gains no points by replacing Hayden with Crutchlow.

Does anyone really think "first year Cal" will out score "second year Dovi" on a Ducati?

What's Ducati thinking, Cal will sell more cigarettes than Hayden?

Interesting video interview with Lin Jarvis on motogp.com regarding CC.

Although he has to walk and talk a careful corporate ($$$) line, obviously.

Re the expansion of factory teams, motomatters has the lowdown.

Which seems to be that no change is demanded, but some change is possible. I've been feeling much less confused since I read it.

Plus good stuff here on what it might mean for Aprilia.

The same thing Cal does with it. Dump the contents down the drain and fill the can with water.

More acknowledgement of the excellence of MotoMatters from Bradley Smith's official Facebook page;
"We are big fans here at BS Official of the excellent articles that David Emmett and the MotoMatters.com team produce on a regular basis. The technical aspects of MotoGP can be a mystery at times and recent announcements on rule changes for 2014 have left many fans confused. This piece by MotoMatters really helps as it explores the topic of MotoGP's new rules on ECUs and factory riders and assesses what they actually mean...

It's well worth getting up to speed on this matter, as it could have significant consequences for certain riders and teams
....."

Anyone have any idea how many engines Aprilia is using per year?

It seems the 20L limit is a canny pre-emptive strike by YamaHonda to retain the upper hand. It will serve as a disincentive for Aprila to bore out that motor.

The end of 2014 is still along way off, but this would seem to effectively terminate any speculation of early retirement ...
