Maybe I'm forgetful, but this season sure does seem a lot more interesting and exciting that last year. Marquez is a big part of that, really didn't expect him to be so fast so quick.

I've never really been a Rossi fan, certainly appreciated his talent and showmanship, but I find myself hoping he finishes this season on the podium and in the #1 spot every race weekend.

He most always comes across happy, smiling, and appreciative, it's ok to want to root for him, especially because now he's really the underdog.

I bet Rossi still thinks he can win the title this year. But there are 3 riders, that have so far proven to be generally faster than him, and no wonder they're top three in the championship. JLo and DP could be out of reach by now, if there weren't any injuries, now they are still within sight. And Marquez, well, Rossi just has to figure out a way to start matching him, that won't be easy especially with most of the upcoming tracks favoring Honda, but I think he's gonna give it a good try. He's still way more experienced than MM in MotoGP. And the other two Spaniards, or CC, are not done yet, either. Later part of the season should be really great.

It really has been FUN to watch the last few races.

Don't get me wrong- 99 and 26 have amazing abilities, and after all this is about racing- not a popularity contest.

But what a difference when CC, MM and VR are on the podium and the post race interviews. Like I said- FUN to watch as opposed to the JLo and DP bots.

This is supposed to be entertainment- those 3 guys provide it.

If by some miracle Rossi is in with a shot at the title, I'd expect VR & MM's relationship to cool rapidly. Being friendly with Rossi does not last through a title fight. Would love to see a 4 way showdown for the title!

That's a good thing. If there was just one rider faster than him he'd be stuffed.

But with 3 others racing, crashing, knocking each other off... and getting injured... he has a [very] outside chance.

They are limited to 12 as per current rules. I believe.

Absolutely!! And I really hope it ( Vr46 getting a shot at it..), does eventuate, just to see this play out, alone. And then there would be the in team dynamic with George...... And I guess I'd like to see him get to that position anyway, cause if he did, he'd bloody well deserve it!
Play on!

The thought just struck me, when Spies went to MotoGP I expected something kinda like what Marquez is doing now. That never happened. When it was announced that Marquez was going to MotoGP, I assumed he would go fucking nuts and crash all over the place. That never happened.

Yes, this is what I meant. I know they are allowed 12 but was wondering about the rate of attrition, as this would seem to be key to Aprilia deciding if they can afford to enter as a factory team.

I agree with this, but I think his goal for this season was to finally get another win, a few podiums, stay healthy, and get the bike sorted for next year. I see him riding conservatively thus far, I think he is taking a longer term view.
