Hardly, if there's one thing I've learned about the internet it's that nobody listens to anybody no matter how much sense they make.

I'm just annoyed with Stoner for quitting when he did. Could you imagine the racing this year with him in there. We could arguably be watching the three greatest riders of all time competing together. It would have been epic. And I'm not using that word lightly.

Fast riders outnumber fast bikes.
so where does PJ Jacobsen fit into all this. What series is he riding in? He's from my home town practically and I know he's in Europe racing.

Also for anyone who cares to respond, I saw a post in this thread about BMW no longer having a team/bike/rider in WSBK.

Have they totally pulled out? If so when? Why?

Are independent teams still running the BMW wonder bike?

Welll, he's actually racing in England in British Superbike. Doing pretty good for a rookie.

Those questions might be better answered in the World Superbike thread.

I'll help, because you do such a great job on the MX threads and capture such great images.

Couple Weeks ago BMW posted a press release that they are shuttering their World Superbike team after this season, but will continue to support customer teams in the future. It had a bunch of corporatespeak as well, but I couldn't make much sense of it. Something about product lines. Maybe it had something to do with their scooters. Or maybe their version of the GSX-R1000 is not selling and isn't long for this world. Or maybe they are going MotoGP?

Too bad, actually. They finally got their Superbike going pretty good.

Great analysis, but, something can't be more than "100% faster."

If you did something in 100 seconds, and then you do it in 90 seconds, you are 10% faster. (10 seconds difference / 100 seconds original time = 10% faster.)

If you did something in 100 seconds, and then you do it in 1 second, you are 99% faster. (99 seconds difference / 100 seconds original time = 99% faster.)

Old Yamaha shift time: 0.038 seconds
New Yamaha shift time: 0.016 seconds
Difference: 0.022 seconds
Percentage "Faster": .022/.038 = 57.89%

There are quite a few here that were/are annoyed by his mere presence.

I couldn't agree with you more, though.

From an SEO perspective, it is a great article title. Fuggin' home run.

Thanks for clearing up the math wiseblood. My head was starting to hurt figuring out how it was over 100% faster.

It's a great analysis. David has a future in industrial espionage if he wants.

I don't want to take anything away from his work -- just wanted to clear up the math, which was bothering me.
