Yeah... but its not unlimited. Limited fuel, limited number of engines, rev limits etc.

Kind of an odd mix we have going now, trying to keep CRT bikes near the front and maintain the prototype hype.

There should be some news this weekend regarding how Aprilia will continue in Moto GP. There is a strong possibility that the ART designation will be gone in favor of a full Aprilia Moto GP badge.

It looks more likely that Espargaro will continue with the team (they have a contract with him to do so, with some caveats, after all).

Gino Borsoi has also confirmed a strong interest in having Nicky Hayden in the team.

Borsoi thinks quite a bit more will be known by the end of the weekend, if not sooner.

It is known that Aprilia has been working on a Moto GP specific motor with an 81 mm bore (max. Moto GP bore) and possibly with pneumatic valves.

It seems the biggest point to be determined is if they will use their own electronics or the spec electronics.

Forward racing has reiterated that they will use full Yamaha M1 Moto GP bikes with spec electronics.

Not only is that clarification interesting for Forward, but also for the possibility of other teams to use the same spec/set up.

It also begs the question; is there any reason why the same could not be negotiated with Honda, say for Hayden, on LCR?

It seems like it would be beneficial for all manufacturers to develop their bikes to run the spec electronics.

So, Spies had surgery on both shoulders, leading many to speculate his right shoulder was not as healthy as he said at Indy.

Pramac's Paolo Campinoti has already expressed his displeasure with Spies being out for several more rounds (initial estimate for return is Aragon, September 29!).

GP One speculates Spies future at Ducati is less than secure. They also comment that Ben's mother/manager is less than popular with Ducati and the rest of the paddock.

After they turn pro, parents should stay out of their children's sports. Nobody ever saw Archie Manning hovering around his son's sidelines. He sits up in the stands like any fan would.

My guess is that Ben's racing career is going the way of his old rival, Hopper. He probably still has something left, but I doubt he can withstand many more injuries. He never used to crash much, but since he's been in MotoGP, he seems to crash at least once every race weekend.

It's hard to tell if the GP One report is just stirring the pot.

There was something out there about Spies poking at Carlo Pernat, who is associated with GP One.

Apparently he posted this on twitter, then deleted it. If that's true I'm going to be surprosed if he isn't fired today.

"Saw the doc today. not great. Off to surgery tomorrow! Bet Carlo is so exctited he wont remember to wipe the powder off his nose!"

Yep , went looking for that quote earlier and couldn't find it.
Now I know why.

Didn't know who Spies was referring too (Carlo) at the time.

It was only a short 2 years ago that I was still convinced that Spies would be MotoGP champion one day. That sure seems like a dream now. Sad to see this latest unfortunate news.

And, posting stuff on facebook or twitter, when will people learn, that's the same as putting it out in the newspaper used to be!

Why would that get him fired?
