According to the Hellforleather review it DOES have 6th gear:

Another mistake:
"The USB input for connecting a phone or MP3 player is located in the left pannier, which puts it out of immediate reach if you come to a stop and want to check your messages. This is, however, a headphone jack in the cockpit’s lockable left cubby. Neither charges said device."

The USB input / ipod/iphone integration DOES charge the device..

....yeah, I caught those mistakes, also. That is out of character for HFL, they are usually pretty insightful. I think thay have missed a step after their latest bout of drama.

A 150-mile route emptied most of the F6b’s 6.7-gallon tank. That was a mix of 85mph freeways, 35mph surface streets and…enthusiastic riding on back roads, but still, 22mpg or so isn’t terribly impressive, neither is a relatively limited tank range from what’s otherwise an excellent tourer.

When I divide 150 by 6.7 I get 22.38 mpg.

That article is a complete disaster, they said the first GL1000 came out in 1985.


I was tossed the keys to a MG Stelvio for a week long test, my first tank was in the mid 20 mpg range. Most motorcycle tests only last one tank or at most 400 miles. I had that Stelvio for a week and once I settled down I was in the upper 40 mpg range.

Owners are different than test riders, Goldwing owners are getting 38-46 mpg or so.

I'm seriously thinking of selling three or four bikes and getting this new B model...or maybe that new Rune down in Vegas for less money.

MSRP in Canada is $3000 more than the base model in the US, and is only available in black and no Deluxe model either. So it's $23,000 for the base model with ABS.

I've read a couple of times that this is purely a market decision. While the RotW has slowly accepted ABS as safer and faster than the average rider, the USA still has something against it, in terms of buying decisions.

Perhaps it is incompatible with freedom-seeking..

The dealer I work for just got 2 of them on Thursday, a red and a black one. Sitting on it, you can tell ALL of its weight is very low, there is not a hint of weight up high. I rode the red one for a couple miles, not long enough, but I got the gist of it. It was very quick. Those 65-70 pounds they took off made a huge difference. Its nimble, quick and turns heads.

The negatives is that there was a fair amount of wind noise directed right at your helmet at 40 mph, never took it on the interstate but could imagine it would only worsen. The one thing that bothers me the most is the nakedness of the switch housings with all of the buttons missing.

Over all I give it a thumbs up

Another stupid comment from another press moron. They talked this up so much over the years that there are now lots of owners stuck with $3500-$4000 bills to split the cases in order to replace gears.

But it will need a taller windshield for any long distance work. And the passenger will want a back rest. Might as well make that a trunk for the femme clutter.

Gonna go check out the F6B today, they have some leftover 2012 'wings too, gonna look long and hard at both. I can easily make a rack for the F6B to mount a HappyTrails topbox for longer trips and I don't really like windshields. It's harder to put cruise control on the F, so the full 'wing might win me over.
