So I he been searching for a while on information regarding a retrofit of a hid projector into the headlight housing. Has anyone done this or even high quality low beam enclosed projectors?

The way the post is written, he's looking for an actual projector assy installation into the existing housing instead of the much easier HID conversion.

Talked to the folks at TRS (The Retrofit Source)...they have this with an H7 adapter:

As of current I don't know of anyone who has done a custom install of a projector inside of the original headlight assembly. I have seen custom jobs with carbon fiber and HID projectors etc., but not inside of the headlight assembly.

I did a quick internet search and found this Anyone install HID projector in their LT headlight?... which had tips on how to get inside of the headlight assembly.

Just a thought... I don't know if I would actually put a projector inside of the headlight assembly - the glass I don't think is made for that. A projector already has its 'lens' and I don't think having another headlight 'lens' on the outside of the projector would help in any way - I think it would deter the pattern even more.

Maybe Jim or Laurel can help more.

I am not saying its a good idea or not but the glass on a 12 is just plain glass so wont make any difference at all. Its a shaped reflector so doesnt need a lence infront of it. Projector HID's typically have an external cover anyway whether glass or plastic.

Good point. I was thinking of the pattern, but it's the reflector that does that.

Time to go back and have some more coffee...
