Sunday Suggestion - Page 2

Well Squishy, I'm nuts but not that nuts. Been watching radar for an hour. Solid slug of heavy rain from Salem to Troutdale. I think I am just going to drive over to The Dalles. Want me to pick you up?

Well, we met up via texts @ a coffee joint in Troutdale...although, some guy from Salem drove a truck

, he was saying something about warm seats, drinking coffee & how the occasional drop of rain didn't run down the back of his neck...but neglected to see the power wires going to both of our heated clothing set-ups...toasty

We headed along towards Larch mtn (on top of the gorge past Multnomah Falls...where we could've dropped down to the highway), but got turned back to Corbett with road closures. We dropped down to 84 @ Corbett, & ripped up to a nice little river stop, south of the highway, to view the Salmon spawning. On further to Cascade locks, to the "Char Burger" for brecky.
As we were a bit behind on the time, we carried on out east on 84 to The Dalles, over the bridge to Dallesport, to the RV park, & the Trials event.

Threecows eagerly looking on.

Gary, Kary & Mike (the truck driver).

The pros, taking their turns.

Sweet bikes, Kary kindly allowed me to hop on his knarly bike for a little play...i promptly refrained from critiquing any other riders after that!

This was an aweful rock double step-up, which was causing some trouble...think it was the fact i was standing there flashing my camera.

This guy stepped it up nicely.

The cagers had to get a photo of the keen ones to brave the weather...self & Threecows.

"The Cagers", Slow-Joe, lovely wife Donell? & Mike the cheeky bugga.

Great to meet up with Joe & Donell, who suprised us with a visit.
Glad i went out & thanks to Gary joining in on the ride, didn't get alot of rain on the way out, none at the event...but had to put up with the spray of the trucks etc on the trip back to Troutdale on 84. Still, for some bent reason...i love it out riding in all the knarly elements & braving all that mother nature spits at me!

Nice!! Good turnout....good weather, despite the forecast!

woulda been nice to go, but I got more house electrical done, and parts ordered for the bike,....inside....while it rained all day up here near Parkdale

The Tiger had the wrong rubber on it so I couldn't show them a thing or two about how to ride. Sure was fun watching though. It's quite impressive to watch these guys climb some vertical sections that to me looked totally impossible.I'm going to be attending a lot more of these events from now on. If I was 50 years younger I'd be on my way to the gasgas dealer tomorrow.
Good company, great day. Maybe a little too much water in the mix on the freeway, in the dark, and on the way home. Its makes for some interesting riding when you can hardly see the road.

GREAT company, great day. Maybe a little too much water in the mix on the freeway, in the dark, and on the way home. Its makes for some interesting (delete "interesting") insert (white-knuckle, gawd I hate squishy, where the hell is the road, how the hell did I let squishy talk me into this, where the hell is the road, did they forecast this much rain?) riding when you can hardly see the road.

I am pretty sure this is what you intended to type, threecows.

He was on the Triumph, don't think he's had any probs with that bike, & the others were just shitty fuel or electrical probs anyway...nothing too alarming!
I enjoy being out in the elements, & try to be respectful & accomodating to fellow riders.
Gary did fine, cant always ride around the rain clouds

You're never too old to start,nothing says you have to do vertical walls,even big ol' dualsports ride better with basic trials skills,get yourself a nice tall glass of KoolAid and join us!
