There's a couple of ways in...over the dirt berm on Bowesville Rd just south of Leitrim Rd; in via the old rail bed from Earl Armstrong Rd (although last time I was there it was marked as a multi-use trail); or, in from High Rd south of the old rail line.

Seem to recall that some is private, and some crown. Watch out for the dog walkers, they give you the evil eye.

I would tread carefully in there, It's mostly Transport Canada (Airport) property which means the RCMP have jurisdiction and they do keep an eye on the area. Common sense rules of operation apply when anywhere near the public, as usual...

any buildings on that property mostly belong to the airport, Don't find yourself hanging about near those places, you'll be living a new dream if your caught...... first lap through the property should be very slowly watchin for those dog walkers.... yes they will give you the stink eye...... there is a couple of challenges in there for a big bike, loose sand, loose sandy single track, big hill climb, if you dare to go down, cause you will have to come up if you do... there is a few sink holes that will swallow you whole.

If you obey the signage warning you to stay away from the radar facilities, you're OK. you're there no more or no less "illegally" than the dogwalkers and birdwatchers. The Ottawa Police occasionally patrol the area, but I suspect they don't go in there unless called with a complaint. Never seen RCMP bother with that area if you're not encroaching on radar sites. Frankly, I'm more concerned with keeping the dog walkers and birdwatchers off my back. As long as you're polite and conscientious with them, you're good.

That big bike will be a bear with all the deep sand in there, but lots of fun on smaller offerings like my KLX. In the spring you could try Parc Papineau Labelle north of Buckingham, some really sweet dirt roads in there and as far as I can tell, legal for Dual Sports except during Hunting Season in the fall. I believe the Roaming Rally does some of the northern routes. I usually head north on Hwy 315, some sweet twisty's before the dirt. From Montpellier, we head into the park and explore. Or follow up the west side of Lac Simon to Duhamel, then ride around Lac Gagnon. All that is do-able on a big bike like yours and great learning potential for dirt noobs. Have fun and keep the suggestions coming.
