Two holes in rim for valve stem?

I purchased THIS rim several months ago and just got to putting in on the bike yesterday. I noticed, after I put it together, that it had two holes (each about 6" apart) for the tube valve stem. Was there a mistake during manufacturing? I've never seen this before.

The other would be for a rim lock.

Thanks. Just got my TuneECU cable from your shop last week. Looking forward to using it once I have the bike started up again. Just finishing off the rebuild.

The bike has been without fluids since January (about 10 months). Should I have any concerns?

Not a motor expert, But- as long as the motor never came apart I would not think twice about firing it up. If you are worried about lubrication you can always pull plug wires and crank it a little to prime the oil pump: before you do ask a real expert if you need to hook plugs to the wires and ground them to do this, some modern motorcycles will fry the coil caps (or so I am told) if you dont do this. When I was a young we would buy old motors from junk yards to rebuild for our "hot rod" projects, when we would pull them apart the bearings,lifters,and heads would all have oils in them, this was after sitting for years most of the time.

IT would also be a good idea to pour some motor oil down each cylinder and turn the motor over by hand a few times to lube the rings and walls. Doesn't take much teaspoon or two. Just pour it in via the spark-plug hole or intake valve if the carbs are off. Make sure to keep the valve open long enough for it to drip into the cylinder.

I also just notice that the rim doesn't have the rubber strip around the inner part to protect the tube. Aren't new rims supposed to include this part?

Or, you can order the rim strips for the 950 SE which are thick and work better than duct tape.
Rear rim part number 63010073000 for $6.56

Front Rim part number 58409073100 for $4.47

If you want it thicker just go around the rim another few times. Duck tape never spins and makes getting the tube stem a pain to pull through. And when it wears out you just tape it up again

I can try some duct tape. I just assumed the new wheel/rim should come with the rubber piece given that the photo on the website shows one and I paid $700 for the wheel.

also wrap the duct tape in same direction as wheel rotation
