Harlan Co. Campground Upgrades

Hey guys,

It's been about five years since you were here to Harlan Kentucky for your 09' BYOB and I wanted to let you know about the improvements we've been doing since then.

I want to invite you to take a look at our new website and see the changes I'm about to mention.

http://www.harlancountycampground.com

First and foremost - We now have a second shower house! The new shower house has 6 individual heated bathrooms with your own toilet sink and shower and you lock the door behind you.

We've also got a Laundry Mat in the same building.

We've also added numerous cabins, several of which are luxury cabins with hot tubs and multiple bedrooms.

In addition to this we will be adding a 30 foot pavilion to the end of the new shower house as well as replacing the porto-potty's at Campground Area 3 with bathrooms this winter.

We also recently added kayak rentals -

Over the past couple of years I purchased a Honda Shadow and a Spyder for my wife and we're really working to make the campground more suitable for motorcycles. We've got a lot of plans for the future and even added a new page to our website just for motorcycles.

http://www.harlancountycampground.co...nds-Routes.php

In addition to this the county has had a page with several routes put together.

Not crowded that much at all.

Be sure to check out this website with maps of our local riding routes.

I can point you to a few nice ones here too - I've also got these maps on paper here at my office. We've got one thats 29 miles long, but 12 miles of it is dirt/gravel but no crazy inclines on the gravel and it's not thick gravel neither.

Another one here is a mountain crossing over the highest point in the state - it's like 200 curves in 8 miles.

Here's a video of both:

Not crowded at all. Most of the cabins are full and a couple of elec sites taken but that's about it. October is when it gets busy.

Here's a couple of videos of some of our backroads riding...

Glad I found this! I was planning on exploring the area in a couple of weeks. Looks like I may have found a place to camp.
