ere109's Xmx Party - 2012 Edition

The most wonderful time of year has come again – the time for the Team Elliott Xmx party – Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. “Yes”, some might say, “but innocent children and animals and alcoholics have been harmed in the making of this event” To that, we say TRUE. But we also ask invitees to look beyond the cruelty and mass deception that marks this joyous occasion, and to settle their mind upon the unadulterated joy that floats, inconspicuously, atop the cruelty, deception and poverty (did we forget to mention poverty before?) at 3 a.m., just before all the beer is gone.
Surely, travelers have heard tales of Black Santas and Boogymen, police riots and presents, homebrewed beer and... Could it be? Have we forgotten to mention the home brewed beer? Last year, 25 gallons was consumed. Back this year are the infamous black lager, pecan wheat, and a few unexpected guests. Tea-totalers can enjoy egg nog (with or without rum), cider (with or without whiskey), or wine (with or without pouring it into a cup first). There will also be some food.
“What about entertainment,” demanding guests might ask. This year, all attempts were made to invite Steve Martin. However, there was no response from his “people.” We should have tried Bill Murray. Instead, we're substituting our live entertainment portion with backyard fires, canoe aquatics, 3 a.m. caroling, people watching, and our favorite Yankee Gift Swap! The exclamation point means it's exciting!
As always, significant and insignificant others are welcome, but poor attitudes will not be tolerated. If you see this, you are invited, even if you're a computer hacker or an FBI agent.

WHAT: Team Elliott Xmx Party 2012
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 @ 7 p.m. - ?
WHERE: My House (PM for instructions)
WHY: There isn't enough paper on the Internet to describe what a single moment here explains.

FAQ:
Q: Why is it an Xmx party? Where is Christ?
A: Christ does not attend this party, but Jésus is invited every year.

Q: How can I participate in the Yankee Gift Swap?
A: Bring a new, cool gift, of about a $10 value.

Q: I home brew beer. Can I bring some to share?
A: Let me think about that … … … … I guess so.

Q: How many people attend this incredible event?
A: This party isn't for the shy. Expect 50 QUALITY guests, minimum.

Q: I've come to this party in the past, but I'm not sure we're still friends.
A: We are. Stop “F'ing” around and get here.

Q: What can I bring?
A: Yourself. If you have a favorite snack, that too. If you want to exchange presents, bring one.

Q: My name is Pete and I don't like to be reminded about social functions. What should I do?
A: Cover your eyes and ears for about a month, then be here on Dec. 15.

Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: How much do you like them? You can bring anyone mature enough to witness 50 immature adults.

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: As long as they're "cool."

I've been to this event before.

I don't remember it being a bad time.

I don't remember it being a good time.

I don't remember it at all.

Schedules aren't out yet, but if I'm not off, I may call in well.
Can I still come if i'm sick?

Just keep feeding Ethan shots and I'm sure you can get him to strip.

Don't worry, we'll invite the Mayans in, too. However, if they have spears, scrolls, or funky stone tablets, we'll keep a close eye on them.
As for strippers, pick one up along Colfax and bring her. Just make sure she doesn't steal my ... I don't really have much of value.

A few questions from a Xmas bash virgin:

Is this in Denver proper? I'd like to know what jail the authorities would house one at. . . I'm thinking the Denver jail would really suck, but maybe the Sedalia or Franktown jail would be tolerable.

If it's in the country, are there rules regarding any farm animals?

Does "Sgt Marty" have street cred, or should he be viewed with suspicion?

Does your backyard allow for motorcycle tricks? Front yard? Are motorcycles allowed at all?

If I become a hazard, is there a river by which I can sleep in my van?

Do I bring my own PFD for the canoe aquatics? Will there be a certified lifeguard?

Does this venue embrace the mantra of Vegas or Mexico?

That is all for now. Thanks for the invite!

Denver Proper. I have personally witnessed the police beat someone as they left a party at this house.

If there's room in your van for farm animals, bring all you care to tuck in.

Sgt. Marty has no street cred that you know of. You should test him.

Motorcycles are always allowed. There is a fence, but if you can get up the steps, I'm game. Random women have been seen passengering on the back of one-wheeled bikes at 1 a.m. on the "south side" of this house.

This doesn't bother me. There should be a few vehicles with campers parked outside the next day. Just be aware of the farm animals you bring, and aforementioned police.

That depends on your sense of adventure - photo or otherwise.
Does this venue embrace the mantra of Vegas or Mexico?
Sure, as long as you accept the fact that many people who got too far out of hand in Vegas are now buried somewhere in the desert.

That is all for now. Thanks for the invite!
