Engine noise R 1150 GS Adventure

Hy mates

Few days ago I realised that my R 1150 GS engine doesn't work properly.

In this video you can see what I mean:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyYtodO5-G4

It seems to come from distribution group.

At first I have changed oil and oil filter. I filtered the oil with a piece of cloth looking for any piece of plastic that could show me any problem with the slide rail.

This is what I found (of course the coin was not inside ):

As you can see, is not any piece of plastic in it.

After that I checked both chain tensioners looking for any damage in them.

Left tensioner is the first model changed at 2007. I will change it this weekend.

The right tensioner has some scratches and I don't know if is normal or not. You can see them here:

if you have any suggestion about what can be, will help me.

Thanks and sorry for my English

If you

still have the original Muffler on, than this sounds NASTY. Turn it off.
Is hard to hear but it sound like a loose sparkplug or some mechanical from the inside.

Does it make the same sound with the clutch pulled in?

If it were me I would pull the valve covers and make sure
everything is in it's place and moves properly when the engine
is rotated.

Then pull the plugs and do and inspection of the piston top and
cylinder walls with a bore camera.

Is your valve gap big.Sounds way loose.15mm&30mm.
Do a Video in the day light.

It could be a push rod making that noise also. The ends separate and make the noise.

Due to the inadequate lighting in your video, it is not possible to determine the sound source visually. Also no mileage reported.

I vote for TB shaft/bushing worn out. Repairable.

A person in a Spanish forum said that scratches on right tensioner indicates it becomes stiff with temperature. I'm going to change it this weekend and see what happend. You will know it soon

Thanks for your help. Sorry for the quality of video.

If you're going to include critical specifications and want to sound like you know what you are talking about, please re-read what you type to make sure you get it right. Most people probably know what you mean, but some might take your numbers literally and potentially ruin their engine (even though it would be physically impossible to open the valve lash that far). 15mm is over a half inch and 30mm is over an inch...

You are right, but this is what the motor sounds like: 15mm and 30mm valve gap. and anything between.

Don't come back and tell me thats not possible. I know that

Why do the headers look blue? They really that hot? I've idled for a length of time before and I didn't get anything like that.

Quick easy check

I had a poly vee belt start to shred once and it sounded just like your video.
About a 3" tail came off the side and was wapping on the inside of the plastic cover.
Sounded like it was inside the engine.

Maybe a yard stick was used to adjust valve lash?

Agreed, I try to review and correct what I am about to post 'cause I don't want Jetspeed to think I'm just a dopey, white-hat sailor while he is entrusted with a multi-million-dollar military (US Navy...they're the best) aircraft. Some say he is the best pilot on the West Coast however, I have yet to see him fly his helicopter upside down (I think he's done it though...just not around the base CO).

Sorry, four zeros to the right of the decimal would be ten thousandths.
