I bought a BDCW & a Touratech skidplate and sent them both back... IMHO not as strong as I'd like I went with Weld86, absolutely the toughest one out there- I like the curved clutch cover protection it has as well, which guards the rear brake pedal somewhat.

The sidestand relocation (not reinformcement) bracket from PABiker is awesome! I've beaten the living hell out of my bike, & had it fall on its side in gnarly rockgardens- no problem. PABiker got out of retail & lets CJDesigns sell them now

And guess what? CJDesigns is selling both now! Since he's a fabricator he could have made his own- instead he sells these... and just in time for Black Friday, he's offering the pair of them at a great savings!

I love my Scotts steering damper & upper triple clamp- once you figure out the settings you're happy with you set the adjustment pointer so you can easily change it on the fly

The Motion Pro fork bleeder valves are a good addition

I use KTM Rally Pegs

above all I'd go for a European headlight reflector which runs two different bulbs- the US-spec H4-bulbed things they sell with the bikes is night & day (hey a pun) different. Best money to spend, period

Lot's of great suggestions here. For what it's worth I went for:
Euro Headlight with a HID high beam...a MUST
Rigid Industries Duallies
BRP sub mount and Scotts Damper
BRP 1.25 risers
Fastway ADV pegs
BDCW skidplate
Seat Concepts Kit
auxiliary fan kit
sidestand relocate

scotts oil filter
DNA air filter
Heidenau tires
good touring windscreen (undecided)

I got most of my stuff from Black Dog Cycle Works as their company has weeded out junk parts and they've streamlined their inventory with the BEST stuff. But more importantly, Kurt and Martha Forget are the nicest and coolest folks around. It has been way cool to work with them as they take great care and interest to develop personal relationships in business and they are devoted riders. If high quality customer service and top shelf product is your desire you may want to check them out,. Keep in mind this is one persons opinion, take it with a grain of salt. There are many good companies and people out there to get your desired parts from. Overall, the best purchase I made was the 990 itself. Best wishes and luck in outfitting your it's FUN!!

Yo, turbojet, you get that new ride out to Mosier, yet?
We haven't heard from you in a while.......
