If you are an experienced rider, us ride leaders will ask you to step up and ride sweep, help shepard some noobs, or in the event of something bad happening, to get the rest of the group moving and back to civilization. For example, I know my Campwheretheheckahwee ride for Saturday has a couple of experienced guys coming along, one has already volunteered to sweep, the other will help doing some sheep herding, but to load each of us up with more than 3 noobs at a time can be too much, especially if there is a noob that thinks the sweep is there to be a personal valet. As Nowhat mentioned before, don't discount the hangover factor keeping riders in camp after rides have left. |

That will make life easier. Keep in mind that we are going UP the boulder field and DOWN Goler Wash. I was there a couple of months ago and the steps in Goler were buried, but there was a lot more sand.

It can change week to week if a bunch of 4 wheelers go through and pile rocks at all the ledges.

An FYI,
We have six signed up for the Wed, March 27th class and there are seven riders that I believe are attending the rally signed up for the weekend previous, March 23,24. Joel, sorry I missed you at KOM but I was running around with my head at max bandwidth. Maybe a little like you at the Noob Rally or seeing 133 PMs!?! When I slow down a bit I'll get to answering and helping with riding questions a little closer to the event! JIMMY |

A few years back I was sitting around a campfire with a few riding buddies and I commented that I had been carrying tubes and tools for over 15 years and had never had to change a flat on the trail.......I changed 3 flats on the trail the next day. I remember the seventies and even into the eighties, it was unusual for a group of guys to ride for even 2 or 3 hours without having to fix something. Those memories cause us more experienced riders (old farts) to pack way too much shit when we go somewhere. |
