BTW last piece of my repeater box is shipping, looks like I'll have it in time to test.
Have you decided where you are going to put it?

I guess I'll need to bring my liquid cooled pen to sign mine... I plan to buy a whole bunch of tickets again this year!
I assign you a Ride In spot to camp, I'll change it to BT...

Finally back and had some time to catch up on this thread, really looking forward to getting out and catching up with some of you and meeting even more of you. Funny how popular this event has become, I have people asking me if I can get them "in."

Reading through one thing I'd like to share is this little bit about ability levels and rides. Take from it what you can and remember your safety is at stake when you overestimate your skill level.

Know Your Skill Level

And since stopping before you hit something is important, here is our latest Riding Tip:

Front Brake Stopping

Again, Feel free to PM me with specific riding skills questions and I will answer them personally as a service to this ride and group as well as take the best ones and post them up here for other noobs to learn from (anonymously of course.)

Happy Riding,
JIMMY

Read this again people.

There is nothing wrong with admitting that you have bitten off more than you can chew. Others on the ride will assist you through... or facilitate your return to camp on a different route.

This is a multi day event which is good... and can be dangerous. Multiple days is good because you can start on a lower level ride and then go up a level the next day if you want. But remember, after a couple long days you will be tired... that is when it is very easy for bad decisions and maybe even bad injuries.

wed - take jimmy's class
thurs - easy
friday - mellow
sat - challenging
sun - go for a short ride and visit places you missed
mon-fri - recuperate and lick your wounds; call the parts department to replace broken pieces

So... with a 2 night raffle what will happen to 1224Rs night ride on Fri? Can we who ride that night have someone stand in for us?

Happy Riding,
JIMMY
jimmy.

we noticed that a lot of participants have low post count. many of them are had their first post here.

really glad to see this event was able to get them guys came out of the closet and start riding.

with the price of gas, adventure riding somewhat took a big chunk of 4 wheeling.

likewise, riding a dual sport bike beats hiking and mountain biking as far as seeing more places and covering farther distances. we also have the ability to haul our camping gear and food.

i firmly believe that adventure riding has became a very practical sport and an effective means to escape from the urban jungle.

jimmy, if we get an opening from someone bailing out, i will let you know...
