They were talking about 30 PSI being too much for WR250R.

If there's anything else I can do to help, give me a shout and send me a PM with what you need, or contact info.

Hi Dave!

I might take you up on that offer, would be great if you could haul some folding chairs and a small cooler for us. (Only once a year can folks ride to DV and still be civilized!)
My buddy Lyle from BMWVC was going help us out, but I would need to meet up with him on Saturday... If I could come by on Monday it would make for fresher lunch goodies for us. Nancy and I live near Ojai and are leaving Tuesday AM, slabbing it to Barstow then dirt (sand) to the DV area, we'll be in camp Thursday early afternoon. If that works for you shoot me a PM and we'll work it out.

I have added some more slots for the "Darwin, Olancha Dunes, Trona Pinnacles, Escape Route" ride on Friday and the Lookout Mountain Sunset Ride on Thursday and have also pushed back the time for Thursday's ride to 4PM for anyone coming in late, I forgot about daylight savings time when I made it and would like to be up there for sunset.... it's not far from camp at all and will be a great place for any skill level riders to get a little dirty (and n00bs challenged!).
We should be back very shortly after sunset for dinner.

On another note, I don't know how you FF's with 9-5's and families do it, much respect, besides getting out trailer stolen it's been a full time job this week getting our bikes ready for the ride!.... fresh rubber, fresh everything.

We can't wait to get Lost and hang out!

Some more video images of things to soon come!

Well... It's all about making a plan and then saying "ehh, that's not too important, screw it" to about half the items.

Just got a little bit of work done for the trip, still have to build the skid plate and do some basic PM work. Only slightly freaked out about getting it all done on time!

Tell me about it...6-5 work... then my son has track or baseball every night during the week... then games and/or track meets on weekends.

pass

Hello,

Talked to Ranger station today. They sell pass but also have sticker for bikes
so you don't have to have hang tag left on if you park and walk away.
Need to go in person with ID and bikes reg in your name and they will issue sticker. 4 bikes, 4 reg. in your name and get 4 stickers.
Good for lots of places besides National Parks.
Call ahead as ranger station only had 1 sticker left.
Lots of passes for cars, 1 sticker for bike, about right. Either way, I'll have mine.

I might be out...

Hey Guys,

I might be "out" for this trip...
Its been week two of Nicole(nicomama) coping with some of her Fathers Health issues that are not getting any better. As She deals with that, I'm holding down the fort with our kids.
She doesn't anticipate to resolve her fathers issues by the time of this event. She has been & will continue to be with him 24/7 until some issues are taken care of, thus freeing her up and me.
I'll know FOR SURE by March 25th, but it doesn't look good.
I'll miss you guys-
Sorry I won't be there for the HAM radio stuff and the gas at the hot springs
I know a bunch of inmates were dependent on me to provide them fuel for the big loops.
Perhaps next year all these issues will be(better be) taken care of and I'll be there to attend-

Respectfully,

Pablo

Recent post from Saline Valley Talk - 3-13-2013

Just FYI....
Good we're on motorbikes.

Although I would caution big-bike riders - you'll want extensive offroad experience and skill if you're planning on doing much offroad in DV. Small to mid-size dualsports are the rule out there.

So far, weather looks to be very good unless we get some kind of pacific storm that blows through.

My neighbor just came in. He was a part of some sort of a Jeep club.
His rig – 2011 FJ Cruiser 4x4 with 2” custom lift, [B]Bilstein shocks and BF Goodrich multi-ply off-road tires with extra side protection. There are some custom made removable protective plates for the undercarriage.

The group of 9 vehicles went in via N. Pass and went out via S. Pass.
N. Pass – got slightly more washboard since Thanksgiving but the washouts got slightly better due to traffic. The group took 2 hrs to get to Saline. They decided to travel separately as the road was a piece of cake for the offroad enthusiasts. They did not stay long and left before 2 PM not to drive in the dark.

S. Pass – per my neighbor, he’s not going to take S. Pass again until it’s graded. One vehicle in the group lost power due to the washboard and had to be rewired. Another one lost some sort of a hose and the group had to do hillbilly engineering to get it going. A third vehicle had a rock lodged into suspension and had to be rescued as well. Once on pavement, my neighbor noticed a sizable sidewall cut and replaced the tire just in case. Total time to get to the pavement – 6 hrs. Total driving time – 4 hrs. There are reported 3 V-shaped washouts that require higher clearance and 4x4. He mentioned broken plastic bumper parts laying near the washouts. There were other numerous washouts that were OK for all off-roaders in the group. He also noticed numerous scrapes to his undercarriage panels indicating that his custom lift was not high enough. To be fair, I have to mention that my neighbor drives pretty fast and I bet the number of breakdowns can be attributed to higher speeds and over-reliance on the off-road tires.

I myself came back last Tuesday. I took N. Pass in and out, drove very slowly and was fine in a 2013 Toyota 4Runner 2WD. It took me 2hr 45 min to get in and 3 hrs 10 min to get out.

South Pass is fine... Been through there on the 950 and the Land Rover in 2013. Slow going in a 4x4, but it always is... not so slow on the Super Enduro
