When you go out into the desert surrounding PSR to enjoy the Vistas don't hesitate to pick up any trash that has blown out there. If it's paper lets burn it. Plastic should be trashed. The existing metals and cans north of PSR are National Park artifacts and can't be moved !

That's great advice, I remember a few folks frantically looking around for their tents last year after those strong winds suddenly picked up.

I'm heading West today, running 223 to 20 to 101, then south to Eureka, CA. Nothing like a little 400 mile day to clear the head. Hope everyone's prep is going well!

Awesome!

You are correct, no better way to clear the head!

That's why you never see a DS bikes parked in front of shrinks offices.

Safe travels, stay thirsty my friend.

I'm not sure it matters, but I'm not a trucker; I'm riding in. I'm not even sure #31 is a truck or a ride in spot, and its pretty close to my request for row 24-27.

Maybe having trucks next door will be nice windbreaks.

Also, I am still up for leading a ride to the SV Hot Springs on friday (even though only one person has signed up), but probly not going to put together a gps file. Not really necessary, it is a simple out and back ride.

damn....i could not keep up with this thread. sorry if i missed on anything.

to all those who left earlier and leaving, safe travel and enjoy the ride/drive to the dvnr2013. wish i can leave this soon.

take pics along the way. your adventure has begun....

those who missed my post regarding "i will bring a sat phone". please send me an email to advsprinter at gmail.com with your name, advhandle and phone #. share the # with your contact person at home to make them feel better that there's a means to get hold of you. they may use it for emergency at home or special cases.

also, if you're doing the south pass, hot springs ride, stop at the corner of saline valley rd/190 or at the father crowley vista, there's a strong signal (as posted by lost rider) and you may check your messages. the ride leaders can spare you 5 minutes for sure.

i thought that is a good one which we can also use during registration and while doing the roundabout at the campground.

pm them to me and we can certainly make then workable for everyone.

thanks man.

thanks jim, and to all....please participate, we need your support.

let's leave the campground and the national park cleaner than the way we found them.

AS FAR AS CAMPGROUND ASSIGNMENT - PLEASE PM ERSIN (FYYFF).

he would gladly help everyone. it has been hectic for us, people bailing out, signing in, switching sites, etc.

if it doesn't get settled before you get there... please see jim (spafxer), and he will be happy to help.

Sounds good! I wasn't looking forward to riding up 395 (except for when you hit the turn off for Trona). I do have to add a warning - I'm on a xt250......If you want to rescind the invite because you want to go faster don't feel bad - I completely understand , but if you don't mind 65 mph max then it would be great to have some company.

I also have to get off periodically and pound my butt back into shape

Pop me a pm if this sounds ok
