i will have a tent cabin (no bathroom) for you and another female participant, or a friend so you don't have to bring a tent. it's actually very nice.

there are 2 tent cabins available for grab. it's pricy $ $50/night. the resort says they will have more by the march.

We are working on page 25 now and I don't recall anyone mentioning the wind in DV. Last year it was fierce several times, to say the least. If that is normal, Noob DV tenters should be sure to bring good tent stakes and plenty of tie down string, etc. I had the luxury of a camper so it was quite pleasant being rocked to sleep, but my neighbors spent some evenings holding down their sails. Is this normal out there?

Forget the stakes. 30 lb. rock inside the tent in all four corners. Last year the wind blew so hard that Joel refused to leave my tent after our hour was up.

Ken, you have to be prepared for weather any time venturing into the desert out here. It can blow 60-70 mph. Last year was pretty mild actually, it can get a lot worse.

The year before it snowed on all the passes. All it takes is a pacific storm passing through and the higher elevations can get snowed over. There's generally strong winds with any storm front. Even just extremes in atmospheric pressure can cause some big wind out there.

All tenters need some MSR ground hog stakes and extra parachute cord for guylines. Pre-tie them to your guyline loops so they're ready if you need them. Tents need to be moved to the lee side of a vehicle and tied to it if necessary. There's no reason to be blown across the desert floor.

Late winter weather is a great excuse to invest in an up-model tent, something that will handle wind. No fiberglass poles.

Hi Joel, For anyone trailering it in with adobe they will need somewhere to park, but we can set up a bunch of tents in the RV spot.

Steve Palmer + 2 friends, 1drz,2 dr650s 5nights camping, all meals I was told to never volunteer but I'll make an exception this time. Donate? no kidney but might part with a couple bucks.

we only reserved 3 nights for this event. everyone coming in on wed or earlier has to get your own site. if you know your site already, i can assign the same site for the next 3 nights so you don't have to move the truck and tents.
