Southern Utah in April is to die for. It can be cold at night but by day it is wonderful. I spent 2 months around Virgin Ut(Zion area) last year. It was perfect! Watchout for the caterpillars(moths) in early May. You will have cacoons all over every part on your set-up. I have probably 300 on each of my truck tires! It was crazy. Anyways, back to the topic. What part of Utah in April? Weather varies wildly day to day and minute to minute. |

New Mexico is typically buried under a foot of snow & ice in January; no riding opportunities at all.....

Maybe not southern. Most people head to the Big Bend Area in Texas that time of the year.
New Mexico is always a little hit and miss that time of the year.

Usually it gets over 50 most days, 20's at dawn but can be colder at times,
Las Cruces. Phoenix is warmer but sucks

NM will be cold. The highs will be around 30-40 but can have nice days every now and then. The biggest problem is that nearly all of the interesting roads will be in winter conditions and covered in either snow, mud, or snow melt and red sand.

Yes, just terrible freezing cold 60s in Southern NM. Enough to make you want to put on a sweater. Then you can ride those terrible roads for miles. Torture....
