Smithville Texas Day Trip - DL650 and KLR

My brother and I had a great day ride near Smithville, Texas. I was originally turned on to the area by Voltar, and I am glad I saved a track of our ride. I expanded upon my original track by using base camp combined with Google Earth.
Google Earth is excellent for determining if a road is paved or dirt and if the dirt road has any locked gates or not. County roads that are named as such are assumed to be public roads, however when a road has a name like Pettytown Rd, or Walter Hoffman road, one can't be sure that it is a public road and that is when Google Earth really becomes your friend!
We were quite surprised to find such nice dirt to explore within 40 minutes of Austin!

You are welcome, it was a nice way to spend the afternoon on some surprisingly nice dirt roads, not far from the big city.

Very nice! This reminds me of why I've been wanting a second (dual sport) bike.
