Fuel filter replacement question?
I am in the middle of servicing the fuel pump on my 2010 990 Adventure. I ordered the replacement filters for the pump and so far so good. I removed the old screen filter from the pump no problem and am currently attempting to fit the new screen filter. The new screen filter does not appear to want to fit. It almost feels like the small plastic neck which snaps onto the pump itself does not fit. Feels like the diameter of the opening in the neck is too small or something. I am afraid to force it and either break the screen filter or pump itself. Any suggestions? Am I being too cautious?
I looked up the parts in the microfiche and the part I received was # 61007090100 which superceded # 61007090000 for my year model. Comparing the two(original and new) they are slightly different design(new one, the screen filter is slightly longer) but otherwise appear the same. Any help would be appreciated. |

I finally got it to work. It just required a lot more force that I was wanting to give it. The old one slipped off pretty easily but the new one took a lot more effort going on. Thanks.

It has been reported in here the new filter is too tight.
It needs widening of the hole to 11mm.
Cheers
