Miles ridden

I am curious how many miles some of you guys and gals have gotten out of your thumpers. I'll start. I have a street legal 2001 Honda XR400R with about 5000 miles. What's the most anybody has seen on an XR400, XR650L, KLR, DR 650??

I put 10,000 miles of single track, street and dualsport riding on a 2003 Yamaha WR450.

And another 12,000 miles of single track, supermoto, and dualsport riding on a 2007 Yamaha WR450.

Reason for selling - both bike developed transmission issues at about 10,000 miles. Probably due to my riding style.

Otherwise they were very reliable and cheap to maintain.

Had a 82' XL250R with 38K "known" miles engine was never opened, I put 2500 hard abusive desert miles on it before I sold it. and just to give you and idea, all 38K of those miles we're racked up in and nearby Landers and Johnson Valley, CA. by one man over the course of 22 years before he bought himself a harley when he "got old". The speedo cable was disconnected when I got it because he said it made funny noises sometimes.

Best $200 ever spent, EVER!

I bought it non-running and the old man told me "I know her very well.... Clean the carbureutor and put some fresh gas in her and she will make you happy" He was so right, it started first kick. no ticking no tapping no strange noises, lets ride!

I love my 80s Hondas, excellent engines indeed.
And the guy I bought my XL600 from had tears rolling down his face as he was helping me load it up. talking about "I thought i was going to cry more"

Sounds like I'll get my moneys worth from my 600
