I put this out there as a person that drove for closure of this trail system but also as one that doesn't want to see anyone pay the large fines (up to $10,000) or do the jail time (6 mo.) associated with violating the closure order.

This closure should be taken as an opportunity to move this trail to more sustainable ground. If that can become the focus it will be a win win... Even Ned Sussie from CMTRA agrees the current trail is not sustainable (see csindy article). Lets focus our efforts on getting a positive result for everyone involved rather that name calling and threats.

OH Thank you! So glad you are looking out for us!

Truly a win-win!

And who is paying for these game cams?

I'll be out with my camera taking pics of hikers pissing in the woods, dropping water bottles and creating sedimentation issues in the creek

These will go to law enforcement. Remember...I'm just protecting you from yourself.

jahun is a troll - DISREGARD

Guys....I believe this guy is a troll. Dont waste your time worrying about him....or his supposed cameras etc.

10k fines?

I think I'll go run some red lights in my truck cuz that fine won't approach his supposed fine.

The more we go off in response to his BS, the more laughs he is getting.

I don't think anybody here is worried about this individual. It's very obvious the agenda presented, and very few persons in this region would get caught by his self admitted cameras. Let alone they even would defy a closure. Thanks for your concern, but this person is way outta their league in this forum.

Sort of related, possibly ignorant question:

Does the ultimate settlement of multi-use in the Bear Creek drainage have any immediate implications on the re-opening of the Severy Creek trail to non-motorized use? Or is that a completely separate issue? In other words, was Severy closed for silt contamination by hikers or another reason?

I was hiking up near the Bottomless pit today - kind of looking at maps of the drainage and scratching my head a little.

Update: Stopped by the Lower trail head around 3:00pm last night was out in the Jeep. No cameras on any trees, and we walked down the trail which would be good trees for such a thing. Nothing at all (and I was hoping for a FREE camera).

No more MC, but now solo hiking is allowed whereas before only hiking with a partner was permitted? Or is it that now two way hiking is allowed?

It's good to see that yet another motorcycle maintained trail has been stolen.

Yet another trail only good for midweek riding (without the plate).

I've always wanted to ride at night with night vision goggles...

Are there any plans to pull out the bridges the moto community installed? No sense in letting the hikers and MTB'ers benefit from them since there clearly isn't equal access anymore.

Right now that is too soon to think about, remember this is a Temporary closure over this winter. We hope the worst case is a re-routing of the trail system....plenty of land over there that should not be too big of a deal. Just need to keep it away from that drainage area. I guess then that would mean if we need a bridge we should use those although dismantlement and moving would be a pain in the butt. Lets hope for the best...and we get the current area opened back up.
