Aprilia Tuono V4R

Last week I picked up my new Tuono. Managed to do 1100 km for the break-in before it started to snow I have already started to tailor it a bit. Suspension is a bit stiffer than I'd like for our bumpy backroads. Motor is a peach. Sounds wonderfull. Ergos are very good and I didn't mind the stock seat.

In the coming weeks I will add:

- Nitron NTR Race shock with a 0.93 spring, 3-way adjustable
- Öhlins steering damper
- Leo Vince slip-on
- heated grips

Nitron NTR Race

You know you're a little too obsessed with all things moto when you look at that picture of the shock and think "that bitch is sexy!"

Well it is.

I'd end up with so many speeding awards on that bike! Probably a few exhibition driving citations also.

As far as a track day bike, I couldn't think of anything better for me.

Was at the local Aprilia dealer today and took a look at these. I like the pull-back on the bars but the pegs are too high for my tastes.... but damn am I tempted . They had a yellow one and that bitch was sexy. Later this month they will have one available to demo. I think I will give it a spin just for the heck of it . Congrats on the purchase OP.

Pegs can be dealt with. Large selection of fancy adjustable aftermarket rearsets for the RSV4 and Tuono V4, or simple peg lowering kits, or the old standby Buell pegs.

I like the bar end mirrors. May need something like that for my DL. Stockers make mine look like a sailboat.

Just came across one at the local Aprilia dealer ... wow! What a compact machine! I like the ergos too (what little I could tell from just sitting on it). They had the 2nd gen next to it and what a difference in size, weight. I'm not sold on the front, but who's lookin at it when riding. :)

I wonder what the valve adjustment procedure entails?

On the other hand, they were selling the older Tuono for $9K - a great price for that bike, seems to me. They'll probably drop as time goes by, too.

Congrats on picking up a great bike if you've got one.
