Plasti Dip Skid Plate
The BMW skid plate being silver has bothered me since the day I got my bike, so I did something about it. 10 minutes worth of work and 8 bucks for a can of Plasti-Dip and voila.
I think it should hold up well from what I've read. ![]()

If that blue and white plastic starts to bother you just let me know and I'll swap you some yellow ones

Looks good!
I think it looks good, nice work!
I've used the Plasti Dip to coat an anchor before and the stuff wears like iron.I'm considering switching out my BMW crash bars for the SW-Motech bars. Are there any clearance issues where the SW-Motech crash bars go past the front of the BMW skid plate by the header? Thanks!

As runnin4 said, no clearance issues at all. A great combination.
Mr. B, it just got a serious cleaning. It was a mess when I took the skid plate off, so I cleaned it while the Plasti-Dip was drying. I don't really have a car, so this bike gets ridden pretty much every day rain or shine. Gravy, when I first considered getting an F8, I was extremely disappointed that the yellow wasn't available any longer. I LOVE yellow bikes and cars (I had two yellow XTERRAs with yellow seat covers and a yellow Specialized bike that sat on top of a yellow bike rack), but when I saw the blue and white Trophy color, I got over it very quickly. I still like the yellow, but I like the blue and white even more. It's the perfect shade of blue. Any darker or any lighter and I'd be beggin' you to trade.

It helps that I've only had it since August. :)

It comes off really easily but if you clear coat it, it is a bit more resilient
I plasti dipped a carbon fiber luggage rack and it turned out great.

The Plasti-Dip. I still have my doubts about the skid plate.

That black skid plate looks good with the Trophy colors.

For a more permanent and easier to touch up, I recommend truck bed liner (spray can).
