V-Strom 650 footpeg equivalent

Do any of you smart people that live inside my computer know if a footpeg from another motorcycle would fit my weestrom? I managed to lose the left front footpeg in a little incident and the local dealer doesn't have one in stock. I could order one from a website but would rather look for an alternative if such thing is available.

Thanks for any help.

Hector

I'm pretty sure you'd have to order any other footpeg too. Might as well get the right one.

There are a handful of aftermarket alternatives. Somewhere I've got a set that I bought a few years ago and used for a short time. I didn't like them so I put the stock pegs back on. I couldn't tell you the brand anymore, it was too long ago.

If I remember, there was talk that KLR pegs fit the bike, too... but I might not be remembering that right.

I'm trying to avoid having to import

In yhe days of click and buy importing stuff into Guatemala is not really a problem, but ut takes about a week to get the stuff ehand I want the pegs ASAP. So I'm thinking if getting an interine set installed while I import the correct ones.

I own a KLR, will check if those pegs work. I have the original KLR pegs, kept them "just in case" when I intalled the aftermarket ones.

Thanks

I'll try the KLR's. I believe the dealer does have the DR's in stock. Thanks for the advice.

Hector
i think the klr has slightly smaller pin holes you need to drill out for the strom or the dr one has slightly larger holes compared to the strom and moves around a little. you can get those $15 ebay IMS knock-offs for off-road grip vrs oem pegs. there are threads on stromtropper or vrsi about that.

Ebay knock-off KLR pegs worked fine on my DL.

Not noticeably loose, no fitting problems.
Actually outlasted my first DL and are now on my second.

there ya go. then it was the DR pegs that would fit loose as i think the pins are larger and thus the holes in the pegs larger.
