Real Cruise Control!
A friend and I (mostly the friend) installed the Australian McCruise Control on my 800 today. We finished about two hours ago and we each took it for a test ride. The product is high quality, EXPENSIVE and took us 10 hours to install. It works as advertised so I am thrilled. Very similar to the action of a automobile cruise control. The owner Frank is very responsive by both email and telephone. pk

Good products. I put one on my K1100RS that I used for Iron Butt Association rides.

![]() Above is my is my high tech version of a throttle lock. Very expensive-$1.50. Works like a charm every time my arm gets tired or my hand gets numb. What is the cost of the OP's cruise control and what does it look like? My version works for me and if his works for him, then excellent. Different strokes for different folks. Peace! MC

I guess the fact that throttle locks are illegal in most places, escapes you.

I have actually used a throttle lock and find them unsatisfactory. With my Kaoko, my speed does NOT remain constant, but varies with the terrain. I use the GS for long trips, including New Orleans, Maine, Connecticut, TOD and hopefully next July to Alaska.
Here are a few arguments/rationalizations for spending the big bucks: When I am leading a group of friends on a long cross country trip I want to keep a constant speed. A few months ago I lost concentration and received a performance award for 78 in a 65. Sad face. I have a mild case of carpel tunnel that for some reason flares up on long highway trips. I am hoping that the cruise control will help with that. Now I can focus more on spotting f***ing deer!

HOLY CRAP! Expensive should be in really big letters. I do really miss the cruise control from my K1200LT when I am on my 658GS (My thumb keeps going for the button that is not there). But for that kind of money, I'll live without it. I do have a throttle lock, but don't use it very often as I find the throttle pull is so light on these bikes that I don't really need it.

Can't see how this will help a concentration/attention span problem.
