Group 2 heading for the alternate, long route to Ajax.

Gathering the troops. We thought Roger, Crilly and 4play went the other way and figured Jersey Dave was the last one coming down the hill for our group.

Okay, Azredline coming in.

And Jersey Dave... That's all! GO!

A couple of guys on the move.

Reidy008

Slowred coming up the last hill.

This is the turn to Ajax that a few guys missed (we came from the right track and should have taken the left track as shown in the pic). It's more than a 90-degree corner so it's easy to miss at speed. I waited here for people to come back from having gone straight and also for Slowred and Jersey Dave in the RZR. It was taking too long for both so I went back to check on Slowred and Jersey Dave.

That's when I found out we were being followed! Crilly, 4play and Roger were just a couple minutes back.

The bike lineup at Ajax with our resident Spider Man, EsconDeasy.

EsconDeasy takes the quick way up in this sequence.

Another view of the lineup and Crilly.

Group 1 and 2 got shuffled slightly here. The new Group 1 heading off from Ajax.

We took a new to us route out the back way from Ajax Mine.

Intersecting the normal Ajax Trail.

I intended to take the route Wild Bill Kelso found on the way back out and routed everyone in the group toward the surprise hill.

Kbblue coming down.

Followed by Reidy008.

I imagine it's a scary ride down this in that short wheelbase RZR.

John, Reidy008's friend doesn't think so. 'Look ma, no hands!'

4Play shot down the hill!

Crilly went straight down. I'm not sure he used the brakes at all! He was hauling down the face of this hill.

But he kept it on two wheels!

More rollercoaster ride.

Jersey Dave chasing Kbblue.

And Crilly being chased by 4play.

The next stop was this tricky turn.

Azredline getting it done on the big XRL while Wild Bill scopes out a tricky new line.

Reidy008 takes the high, outside line.

Kbblue takes the middle line. It's the most obvious but it's also probably the hardest one when it comes time to make the turn!

Refokus took the slick inside line. The fastest of them all, it seems!

Jersey Dave going for some style points!

Ultimately he took the safe 'n' sane line for the side by sides.

4play lofting the 600's wheel for the inside line.

Wild Bill took this far outside line that looked slick.

But it requires significant momentum.

Reidy008 lends a hand.

Another group of side by sides came through.

Making it look easy.

Looking back at these, I thought this was Roger and Bucket Girl at first!

It was a straight Toyota until he said, "Hey y'all, watch this!"

ashlandmine.

Reidy008 on Crilly's CRF250L.

Lofting the front end of the little 250! I thought he was going to keep on going. He made Crilly HIKE!

I figured I would make tracks for Honda Hill and shot off only to find this scene. Little 125 on the ground and Jumper Dave face down. WTF??

These guys had been here a while. It was a flat tire, cracked tank and nap time party.

Lining up at Honda Hill!

Bucket Boy takes the hero line.

Riding in an open face helmet is major motivation to NOT faceplant!

Bucket Boy back up!

With a little stumble. Not giving in to the whims of Honda Hill yet.

And back down the middle line.

Showing us all how it's done on a CRF230!

Ashlandmine on the middle line.

Riding the spine!

Wild Bill on the outside route.

Adventure Hunter on the Husky.

I think his was the only bike to actually hit the ground on the way to the Ovens.

Ashlandmine back up!

I guess he wasn't done going up!

And back down again.

This looked like the least smooth way to take the middle line.

Cyberdos taking the middle line on the TTR125!

When your wheels are small, all the obstacles are that much bigger! Nice one!

Ashlandmine going up again!

Refokus coming down.

And Jumper Dave.

With a close call!

EsconDeasy going for the middle line.

It looks worse than it is. I bailed out doing the middle line going down last week, too.

Back on!

4play.

Kbblue.

Roger and Bucket Girl.

Ashlandmine down again!

Reidy008!

On the move!

Azredline.

Another close call! And on a Honda!

Jersey Dave!

Plowing through.

Did he ever have all four wheels on the ground?

4play takes the Crillymobile down.

Crilly could have handled it, no problem.

This next drop is a little ugly, too.

Crilly bombs down the rock garden hill.

And right down this drop, like a pro!

What's everybody waiting for?
