Tire Sizing Question
I'm sure this is beat to death elsewhere, but my computer seems to be breaking the search function. Or perhaps it's MIA? Dunno.
Anyway - I have an old '71 Kawi F7 that I'm going to start work on soon. It's stock tire sizes are 3.0x19" front and 3.50x18" rear. I'm wondering what the metric more-or-less equivalent would be. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Cheers, Scott

your going to have a problem with that front tire 300x19 they just don't have anything out there. I have an old Yamaha DT! that has a 300x19 on it and I found some Chen-shin tires but they quit making them last year. Good luck. Rod

There has to be a reasonably similarly sized metric tire out there. It may be moot anyway - I picked up a TS185 front end for the improved brakes and the 21" front wheel.

A 110/90 X19 front. A 120/90 X18 on the rear should be very close. But it depends on the tread configuration on the tires, manufacturer and casing size. The numbers I gave you will certainly fit for a DOT legal DS tire or street oriented tire.

Many of the tyre manufacturers' web sites have conversion charts which may be helpful.
