Hi,

Well, the title says it all.

I left end of March from my home in Boskoop, The Netherlands.
I arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal three months later.

Yes, all that glitters is gold in Ashgabat. After about 20 gold Turkmenbashi's I stopped counting ..

As for Iran: I loved it .. very friendly people (including officials).

Actually, of all the 'special' countries I went to (ie everything east of Turkey), Iran was by far the easiest to travel. Great roads with perfect asphalt and easy to spot speed-cams.

I loved my time there and would really like to go back. Such a nice place.

Between Ashgabat in the south and the Uzbek border in the north lies 600 km of the hottest desert in Central Asia. After 300 km, just beyond Darvaza, the road tuns into sand.
