Yes we have learned from our mistakes. This year the main route on Saturday will be much easier. We were called the erzberg dual sport by many, so our plan is to make the main route easier and then add to the advanced sections. so you hard core guys don't worry. I don't think many will ride all that will be available to them. Also plan to mark all advanced section with a difficulty level to try to make it a better ride for all. Sunday is much easier and shorter day, so you can still get home before curfew. If you finish and still want more don't forget you are staging in the center of 72000 acre riding area and will be permitted to ride . You can find the flyer here http://www.carolinadualsporters.com/ . Fill free to call if you have any questions.

Thanks Steve Lewis

More info from the promoter!

"
Does not include advanced sections. Advanced sections will have the mileage they add shown on the route sheet. Will also be a aux. gas in the morning on Saturdays ride.

Saturday 106 miles
Aux gas from start 20 miles, this is in an advanced section.
Miles from the start
to first gas 49
gas1 to gas2 42
gas 2 to finish 15

Sunday 73 miles
Gas 1 32 from start
Gas 2 51 from start

There are many ways to shorten the route if you wish. Going to try to make up a map to make this easy for all to understand. If you plan to ride all of the advanced stuff, bring your big boy britches because you will need them. "

I could use more details. Is aux gas a gas station or do I need cans. Is this KLR appropriate? Cost? How many people turned out last year?

Is there a slow group? Could it be done on super sherpa.

I am probably in thats my Birthday weekend.

Questions?

Last year, the gas was at stations. Looks like this year they will be too, except for the auxilliary gas located on an hero section.

KLR appropriate? dunno... last year it was iffy at best for big bikes. I know there have been changes for this year to make the main route a bit easier. Hero sections will be just that!

Super Sherpa should be OK, maybe not for hero sections.

As far as groups go, they would be whatever you make. It is self guided {you need a roll chart holder}, folks leave when they like. Best bet, be early to the rider's meeting and hook up with similar machines.

Pretty sure we were well outside the park last year!

I would suggest you call the promoters to be sure, for all the above!

3 of us coming down from South Jersey and Delaware. Looks to be a great ride. We are doing Dirty Dabbers D/S the previous weekend in PA and staying in Windrock the whole week prior to the event. We hope to ride the whole place..........a couple times.

When riding in the park, be sure to get a map. With some hunting, you can snag maps to load into a Garmin GPS if it has a card slot, very cool! Used my car Nuvi 205.

I found some trail signage to be less than visible, but my Garmin would show the entrance and trail number quite nicely.

And when they label a trail black diamond, you better believe it will be tough! Very tough.
