I have been reading threads all day about handguards and have not seen anyone using these handguards yet. I bought a black set like these off of ebay and I can figure out how to mount them. I have the general idea but it does not seem like the fit.

    Is anyone else using these?

Nice looking brush guards...hope you get them to fit.

Photos of your installation would help.

    How much with shipping?

    Shipping was free.

I was hoping some one else might installed these already and could post up some pics or give me some tips. I just can't get things to bolt up correctly.

You probably already saw these tips but just in case: Don't tighten anything until you have all bolts threaded. I used similar inside mounts and had to turn the right one upside down to get around the throttle cables. The stock GS bars have more sweep them most dirt bike bars so you may have to wrap a towel around the inner end, put it in a vice and bend the guards to match the sweep of your handlebars. Good luck.

They say they are for a 7/8" handlebar so i don't think they are ever going to fit unless you replace the mounts.

Other than the look of the fake carbon they look like Acerbis/Emgo rally pro knock offs. They would be for 7/8 bars. If they follow the formers they are pretty soft. The big ol girl will mash them up.

I have the former on my DRZ and they routinely get "reworked".

I think the GS is an 11/8 bar

Great. I will have them send me the correctly sized mounts. Hopefully they hold up.

Don't know which GS you have (hint: good idea to put it in your sig line) but my R1150GS has 7/8 bars.

Don't install them. You will spend more time and money to make Acerbis copies fit. buy instead these. http://www.highwaydirtbikes.com/HDB...ndguards&sid=58477u98v8h0h6cui5f5l8k762n48vm3

They will be as difficult to fit up but you will be far more happy with the results and the performance. If you absolutely need the "Carbon Fiber" look, just wrap these with the faux vinyl. You won't tell tell it apart if done correctly, and you will have far better guards.

Yeah but, look at the price? I'll take the phoney CF ones for $35.00...the look is priceless.

I bought a black set not a carbon fiber set. For 35 bucks I will find a way to fit them.

I think those eBay ones look fine. And the bars ARE 7/8" at them grip end so they might work with some finagling. Matter of fact I've never encountered a hand guard kit that didn't require any finagling.
