The same man from whom I learned that R65s can't be made into R100s (push rods angled different due to shorter stroke) also happened to say, "which makes the cam-timing different." There, I realized, was the reason for the factory's "There is no 336 cam for the R65." Which, until then, I thought I might just buy one and install it anyway.

If you're still using a battery to which water can be added, and you're putting on mileage, remember to check it. I once had a Honda 350 and began to run 200 miles weekly to work. I quickly learned to add battery water every two weeks. That was a smaller battery to be sure, but the principle's the same. The engine won't run right if battery water gets too low.
