Cali to South America

borderblender.tumblr.comI departed Southern Cali on my 2001 1150GS BMW on October 28th. My route was over the Tijuana border and down Baja to La Paz. I then took the ferry over to Mazatian, on down to Oaxaca and onto Belize. From Belize I went to Guatemala City and stayed in Zone 5 for three nights...the most dangerous part of the city. And you ask, why would you do that? I explain that in my blog (borderblender.tumblr.com) Note: tumblr has no "e" in it.

I am presently in Antigua, Guatemala taking Spanish lessons for three weeks. My goal is to get to the Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. I have done this entire trip solo and am fishing out there to see if anyone else is going my way? I have some very dear friends who have lived down here for many years and tell me to STAY our of Columbia at this point...way too dangerous! I need an alternative route...perhaps via boat to Ecuador? Thanks for reading this and feel free to jump on my blog.

Best...Donnie

Hey Donnie - good to see you posting about your trip here. I've been enjoying your blog but be sure to put pics here too. I hope you don't miss Colombia - lots of riders have traveled there and said it's most beautiful - not to be missed. I'll be in Ecuador in March if you're on your way back maybe the timing will be right. Ride safe and be present. Ron
