South 14 to Lemitar

I'd like to do a loop starting at the Ponderosa Bar on S14(337) to Lemitar via the WSMR thru Gordy's hill. Either Saturday the 1st or Sunday the 2nd will work for me. This ride is about 220 miles with gas at Lemitar( or Mountainaire if you do a detour.)

Big bike bike friendly with some options for more challenging stuff when you get to Gordy's Hill area.

I might be able to do Sunday, but don't think I can start early enough Saturday. Go with what works for you!

I'm still open for either day whatever works for most folks.

Did you go up to Cedro on Monday? I got in a short ride Sun and it was still in good shape. no frozen stuff yet.

Didn't make it. Had to meet someone right in the middle of the day so screwed the morning and afternoon.

This would be a cool ride to check out. I can't make it this weekend due to trials event, but snagged your tracks and might look at doing this another day this winter or next spring. Like to see some pics of it if you guys get any good stuff though!

Looks like Sunday is the day preferred.

Thought we would meet at the Morning Star Grocery since the Pondersoa Bar is closed. You may be able to get some coffee at the store if you are riding up.

10:00 meeting time, shove off by 10:15-10:30.

If you need to trailer up some of the way you can park at the Ponderosa Bar or there is a big dirt parking area just east of there about 1/4 mile at the intersection of 337 and 217.

The weather looks great

So far I only have one other person signed up so guess Magoo can go too.

Might be worth giving a jingle to the FS to make sure FR422 is open. It is subject to seasonal closures beginning 12/1 but with the lack of moisture I would imagine it is still open. I rode a number of primitive roads off of it last week and things were nice.

This is a good ride and one I do a few times a year when the weather is like it is now. A buddy and I might join you if he is up for it. I have another buddy's 990 here in storage for him and we wants me to take it out for a ride to get some fresh gas in it and get things ready for when he gets back out this way

Guess we can turn around and go back to Mountainair if 422 is closed. It's not too far out of the way. Thanks for the info.

Looks like we have 5 , may 6 people up for Sunday. Should be a great day. The Morning Star Grocery is 1.5 miles before you get to the Pondersoa Bar, coming from Tijeras.

I'm riding the trials event on Sunday so if anyone is interested in riding this Saturday let me know. I'll be leaving from north 14 around 10am on my 990.
