I wanted to bubble back up the purpose of this ride......
1. Have a blast riding some awesome country with some great folks. 2. The nominal donations, will go to Ride with Respect, a Moab-based trail club that works hard to keep the trails open and maintained. Shortly, the ability to register will go live.......so stay tuned. ........

I'm IN for this one!
Nancy can probably do a sag wagon (RV style!) so I won't have to carry anything ![]() John, do you think Abbi could do this on the DRZ250? She's pretty capable and not skeered!

Yep, she is a very good rider. Last year we had a couple of ladies ride the whole thing and they did great. Of course, there are places where most will need a push or a little help....and that goes for the dudes as well. I would recommend you choose the Rose Garden Bypass....still tons of great riding. This gal....was one heck of a rider!!!!!! ![]() Bryce (Blbiker56) and Tyler (TDBiker) will be joining me for the whole ride. I am pretty sure that my daughter and new son-in-law will haul all the way to Moab (unplated bikes) for a whole weekend of riding. So a bunch of the family will be there. Hope that Audra (BrownEyedSuzanne) can make it......but the jury is out in regard to her work. And we appreciate Nancy offering to haul gear, but it could likely fill up a small trailer....and I doub't you want all that smelly stuff in your RV (gear and gas). We will find a Pickup-Trailer Volunteer. .......

I was riding about that fast in some sand right into a sand pit. My first time in sand...my knee still has pain from that event.

Probably how I will be going (will know closer to the time). Anyone else want to go early and explore Fruita feel free to come out early.
Wednesday - Get to Fruita, Co and scoop out trails. Thursday - Trailer bikes to Moab, ride XR650R back up to Fruita...probably Motel it to have a good sleep plus all gear will be down in Moab. Friday - Ride down on the XR650R Saturday - My ride will be technical and on the other bike (oh yes ladies & gentlemen I got me a 2012 Gas Gas 300 E Start). I'm thinking Slickrock, and Fin's & Things (but I could be pushed into other trails). Sunday - Maybe trailer over to Rose Garden area and ride up it on lighter bike for fun. Depends on how long it takes to get moving. 2012 it seemed people were dragging...LOL

Mileage for people broken down to see where they can get with their tank size:
Fruita to Our first turn off is 14.6 miles That First Turn off to Dewey Bridge is 62.21 miles Total first leg: 76.81 Miles *This leaves you a few way still down. You can slab it from Dewey Bridge or continue on Koko. *Slabbing it from Dewey Bridge is 33.5 to the same spot in Moab Dewey Bridge just after Rose Garden is 25.33 miles (this includes Top of the World) *You then after Rode Garden come to a decision either back to 128 and slab it into Moab or continue down the Koko. * If you go right on Onion Creek its dirt back to 128 then slabbing it, this is 33.4 Miles (or 58.73 miles since Dewey Bridge) If you continue on with the Koko it's 54.47 more miles yet. to Moab (or 79.8 miles since Dewey Bridge) Right Click and Save-As GDB Format: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6036376/GPX.../Kokopelli.gdb GPX Format: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6036376/GPX.../Kokopelli.gpx

Just to be clear - this is only Modette's plan for his own riding, sometimes connected to this organized ride. See post #1 for the actual schedule. |

if you want a touch more technical... Poison Spider Mesa / Gold Bar Rim with a brief side trip down Rusty Nail as an out 'n back up.
