2011 KTM 690R Error Code 90

After a couple of months lay up I started my KTM 690 up with no issues and let it slowly warm up. I then took it on a test ride but only got 100m before it started over revving on tickover and misfiring.

Back in the garage I noticed the FI light blinking and sure enough every time I switch it on it comes up with a code 90 with is Throttle position circuit failure.

The bike will start but wants to over rev holding the throttle shut against the stop alleviates this a bit.

Doesn't seem to be any caught cable and throttle operates fine.

Should I get it checked out on a diagnostic machine at a dealership or attempt to strip down where the cables go into the throttle position sensor on the right hand side of the FI unit.

All opinions gratefully received.

Matt,

You will probably get a better response over in Thumpers. There are some 690 threads in there. I would help you if I could but I have not worked on a 690, but it sounds like your Throttle Position Sensor may be toast.
