2011 KTM 690R Error Code 90
After a couple of months lay up I started my KTM 690 up with no issues and let it slowly warm up. I then took it on a test ride but only got 100m before it started over revving on tickover and misfiring.
Back in the garage I noticed the FI light blinking and sure enough every time I switch it on it comes up with a code 90 with is Throttle position circuit failure. The bike will start but wants to over rev holding the throttle shut against the stop alleviates this a bit. Doesn't seem to be any caught cable and throttle operates fine. Should I get it checked out on a diagnostic machine at a dealership or attempt to strip down where the cables go into the throttle position sensor on the right hand side of the FI unit. All opinions gratefully received. Matt |

Matt,
You will probably get a better response over in Thumpers. There are some 690 threads in there. I would help you if I could but I have not worked on a 690, but it sounds like your Throttle Position Sensor may be toast.
