I will be on the Husky.

I think Beach Pond parking lot at 10 AM sounds good, plus Middle of Nowhere Diner before that (9:00 AM) for anyone who wants to meet up for breakfast first?

I'm probably out.

I discovered a potentially bad big bearing in my FD while changing over to my TCK wheels. I've got a spare FD, but its in Jewett City and I'm in Groton. IF I can get up there to change it tonight, I'll ride.

With just over 110k miles on that bearing, I'm not unhappy about its longevity.

110k miles! damn.. How many miles did you log on that bike or have you owned it since new?

edit: HappySeal; I ride like a washed up old gimp on my good days so we'll see you tomorrow!

The bearing is original from the factory. I bought the bike in 2010, and looking close at a photo I took the night it arrived home, I see ~47k on the clock.

Yeah, I ride a lot.

After further investigation, the suspected head gasket on the 400 looks to be a water pump seal.

Picked up the parts from Razees and hoping to have the little bike back in service this week.

Thats a big relief. Water pump seals are a lot easier to R&R than head gaskets.

we ended the day with a bang...

Aside from the humidity it was a nice ride today; until it suddenly wasn't so nice.

Matt (mrt10x) and Calvin (supercal) got tangled up in the fast fast fast section through the cornfield and it didn't end well. They're OK but they both hit the groud hard and Matt damaged his knee to some extent in the pileup. Enough that he's taking a trip to the ER this afternoon and there was no question about whether he really needed to or not.. Hopefully there's nothing that requires a repair but I'm sure we'll get a report from Matt in the near future.

Both bikes got beat up a bit too but they were both able to move out under their own power although I went to get my trailer to haul Matt and his bike back to his truck since he wasn't going to be riding any distance.. Hopefully SuperCal is feeling OK. He had the wind knocked out of him and was a little dizzy for a while but after 10 minutes or so he was feeling better.

Oh No!

I though we got through the day without any issue...
just a few loose license plates...

Hoping for the best Matt!

Wasn't he talking about getting some better/more comfortable knee armor last week?
