No news IS good news.

5 riders turned out at DD Chopmist. After the usual "how do you do's, JGormley led us on a nice D/S tour of the area.

We did all the advertised roads (see post 1421) and the weather couldn't have been nicer.
Didn't stop long enough for pics except when the group as going in 2 different directions Rich and Sarah were headed home and 3 of us went on for a little bit then had lunch and the best BLT grinder ever.

The pace was good and the dust was minimal. puddles all had solid bottoms. No one crashed. Oh and the weather! Kind of like what I picture riding in heaven might be. (if they haven't banned dirtbikes there already)

only pic of the day:

L to R: RichKLR, Sarah (too lazy to set up an ADV account ) NDavis and fearless leader JGormley.

Thanks to Rusty, Rich, Sarah, and Dave for riding along yesterday...

We did Old Snake Hill and ran into John (if I remember correctly) at the Hoot Owls trailer location... Rusty knew the guys in this area pretty well so we chatted for a bit... Cool guys at this location...

We went on to Willy Woodhead and then down and over to Elbow Rock Road. Somebody has gone through the start of EBR with a bulldozer so it was mostly dry... and reworked for a mile or two...

Then we went into Pulaski and onto the Pipeline.
Rich and his Sarah took the option to head home since we were close to Ct at this point. I hope they enjoyed the ride. Sara was doing so good on the flat bumpy stuff, I didn't stop to consider if we should do the pipeline. I should have checked to see if they were OK with doing this section, my bad.

Rusty, Dave, and I went on to have lunch at Serio's Pizza.
Rust and I had the "small" BLT..very good!

I tried running the camera in picture mode on the handlebars, but the pictures were pretty bad. So no pics.

Also,
When we came to the start of the three different wood roads, I would drop to back to let everyone ride the section at there own pace. Rusty and Dave would run off and wait at the next intersection. Rich, Sarah and I took our time and rode at a comfortable pace.

Not sure if this was a good idea or if its better to keep the group together... comments??

I liked the option to go ahead and hammer it (as much as you can hammer a DR650) the rocks.

as long as it's in a place where people can't go wrong and follow instructions, as to where to wait for the group to reform it seemed to work out well.

According to the town, its still a town road. Mrs Trip and I rode a little from the eastern side a couple of years ago...when we rode out, we got lectured by a DEM officer who apparently thought we were a couple of teenagers on dirt bikes until I took my helmet off. She backed down when I pointed out that we were on legal bikes on a legal town road.

Also a couple of years ago Jerry rode in from Cucumber Hill and was accosted by armed hillbillies who threatened to shoot him for trespassing if I remember correctly.

I think you should check it out.

When I asked Jerry about it he told me about the incident. I was wondering if anyone else pressed the issue. The gun toting guy was in the wrong and succeded in keeping everyone out. Just by being a dick he's been able to keep riders from using the "road". There are so few places in RI, shame to give this one up.

Absolutely ... on the other hand, a confrontational dick with a gun can be pretty convincing....

wow, did I miss a lot or what?!

Mrs Trip rocks

T-Dub rocks

levain, nice to see that WRR so durty.

Rusty, you finally make it out to little Rhody for a ride, and I miss it

I made it back from Key West on the TE610. Probably dripped more oil than the Exxon Valdez in the last few days.

Only one drop, but it was a spectacular one (and of course it was when I was out riding alone in the early morning). Who needs two mirrors?! I'm covered in bruises and bug bites
